Their second album Circa: Now was released in 1992, followed by their first tour and music videos for the songs Ditchdigger and Sturdy Wrist. Fueled by a label interest in Drive Like Jehu, both Rocket from the Crypt and Drive Like Jehu signed to Interscope Records in 1992, with Rocket negotiating a deal that included the freedom to record vinyl releases for other labels. Many of the band's vinyl singles and other rarities were compiled and released as All Systems Go, while Interscope re-released Circa: Now and pushed for the band to continue touring in support of the album. Album 1992 11 Songs. Circa: Now Rocket from the Crypt. Alternative 1992. Circa: Now borrowed the reckless spirit of The Replacements and supercharged it with the guitar dynamics of Fugazi, and an edgy pop sensibility to rival Nirvana. Within a few years, The Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, and Foo Fighters would all be storming the pop charts, but Short Lip Fuser, Hippy Dippy Do, and Ditch Digger perfected that sound long before any of those bands made it big. Speaking of post-Nirvana madness, after Circa: Now was released on CargoHeadhunter the band became the subject of a frantic major-label bidding war which Interscope won after throwing a ridiculous wad of cash at the band. Circa: Now isn't their best work Scream, Dracula, Scream takes that honor with RFTC close behind, but it is an album that will help clear out any lingering post-grunge hard feelings about the early '90s with a blast of good old-fashioned rock & roll energy, and that is nothing to sneer at. Muscular, but with surprising melodic twists, this weirdo quintet hails from San Diego, where soaking up So-Cal hardcore influences is a matter of coming of age. Chunky rhythm guitars are the rule, augmented by honking sax and searing leads
