Having had the official repress that followed this unofficial pressing, I felt let down by the sound quality of the legit repress. To my ears this sounds way better for whatever reason. Anyway, no longer into Soul, so if anyone wants to write me about my copy, it's looking for a new home ;-)

I know that "What's Your Word" is a natural trainwreck with its double kick drums, but is there a new kick on "Deep Inside"? The mp3s I had of it has a different drum, but maybe Whisenhunt re-recorded it for this single?

Just got a copy of the repress (Music Gallery) and played it on an audiophile system. Don't have an original to compare it to but on my system it sounds very muddy and flat on the 'Love Is ... ' side and very clunky on the 'Deep Inside …" side (to a point where its hard to listen to.) Disappointing. Youtube versions sound better.

Looks like the person posting as HOUSE OF MUSIC is also behind the recent repress of rare Italo disco classics (Decadance, Mr. Master, Blackway etc.) on the AFM label - which are also poor pressings. I bought the Blackway 12" but it is unplayable. If they are fans trying to get this music back into circulation, then great, but at least get the mastering right. Otherwise a lot of people are wasting their money on a subpar product. If there's a problem with the pressings then just let people know. (I paid c. $35 for the Blackway repress inc. shipping, ditto Gloria Ann Taylor.)

You are allowing a possible bootlegged record to be roughshod over detailed critique and those people who don't like it are threatening in the edit area with lawyers, swearing etc. That action just makes them look guilty sadly. Sony own the rights to one of the tracks on the EP, so is there any reference on the cover that it has been licensed from them? It would financially be a money losing project if you paid Sony and then only pressed 300. You would never make your money back and so makes no sense. Ubiquity are working on an official album of her works. Save you pennies till then.

He tracked down the brother of Gloria Ann Taylor as we were thinking of licensing one song for the comp. Today the brother of Gloria Ann Taylor confirmed that she knows nothing about this 'reissue' One can only conclude that it is a bootleg.

I don't think that Ubiquity is the only label that can do official reissues.In my opinion there are a lot of more better high quality reissues that comes from other labels, like this one. Received from a serious record dealer about one week ago, I can say that sounds surprisingly good with a pro audio system, so hope this label will come with other great releases in the future.

I hope they still do and keep the integrity of the original. One of the finest records every commited to vinyl. I fear that pressing this on red vinyl will make the playback even worse than it already is if it's been re-mastered from vinyl.

I received my copy today and in my opinion seems to be much well manufactured and with a good overall quality for a bootleg. If you payed 1000$ for the first release, isn't a good job to create bad rumors around a 20$ repress only for the need to keep high the value on your own copy you payed a lot

I think you are right Musicxmeyer. I contacted DJ-Raus who submitted this release and who is mentioned on the back of the repress. A friendly guy but actually denies being involved in the project... This release can have been created with great effort and love but it should had been fair to be clear it is a bootleg and not an official repress where the actual artist is involved.
